This workshop invites participants on a fascinating musical journey spanning diverse cultures. Through listening to various musical works, participating in interactive activities, and exploring captivating examples of mutual influences between cultures in music, we will delve into the unifying and bridging power of music.

 

Workshop Objectives:

 

  • Exposure to Musical Diversity: Participants will be exposed to a variety of musical styles from different cultures around the world.
  • Understanding the Universal Language of Music: The workshop will demonstrate how music serves as a cross-border communication tool, enabling us to connect with people from different backgrounds.
  • Identifying Mutual Influences Between Cultures: We will explore how melodies, rhythms, and tunes travel between cultures and influence the development of different musical traditions.
  • Interactive Experience: Participants will be encouraged to take an active part in the workshop, singing, playing instruments (if they wish), and sharing their personal experiences with music.

  • Interactive Activities: We will participate in musical activities such as group singing, active listening, and identifying musical motifs.
  • Case Studies: We will present fascinating examples of familiar melodies that have traveled between cultures and songs in different languages based on the same melody.
  • Discussion: We will have an open discussion about the power of music to connect people, bridge cultural gaps, and inspire.
