How Can We Assess Pupils’ Intercultural Competence? A Proposal from the Pupil Mobility Field

This workshop will present the Intercultural Assessment Protocol (IAP), which is the result of an action research project conducted with over 100 secondary school teachers in Italy and an international group of experts, including Darla Deardorff, Mike Byram, Martyn Barrett, and Veronica Boix Mansilla, among others. This protocol was designed and qualitatively validated to assess the intercultural competence of pupils participating in long-term individual mobility programs. The IAP has received endorsements from organizations such as OECD Pisa and the European Commission.
